The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has registered a draft resolution on renaming Georgia into Sakartvelo, and Georgians into Kartvels. The former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov writes about this on May 28 in his telegram channel.
“The name Georgia is considered Russified, and the name itself is Russian. It is used by about 20 countries, including Ukraine”,
– Azarov quotes the text of the document.
Ukrainian deputies believe that by renaming the country and the Georgians, they will strengthen relations with Georgia.

As EADaily reported , Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed imposing sanctions against Iran for a period of 50 years. This was reported today by RIA Novosti with reference to the draft resolution submitted by him to the Verkhovna Rada.
