The Railway of Slovakia is Ready to Receive More Agricultural Cargo From Ukraine

Slovak railway is ready to receive more cargo from Ukrainian farmers. This was discussed at a meeting of representatives of Ukrzaliznytsia and Slovak carriers on May 25, Railway Supply writes with reference to Rail.insider.

As the representative of the ZSSK Cargo carrier Josef Virba noted, Slovakia is the only one among neighboring EU countries that has lifted all restrictions on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine and is ready to accept grain cargo.

However, according to him, not a single wagon with agricultural products arrived at the Chop-Chyerna crossing over Tisou over the past week.

In addition, Josef Virba turned to Ukrzaliznytsia with a request to provide a locomotive with a reserve in order to take empty cars from the Chierna nad Tisou station to Chop.

As previously reported, Slovakia is modernizing the railway infrastructure on the border with Ukraine.
