Kiril Petkov probably lied about the real reason for going to Bratislava. No party structure will be found in Slovakia, and the reason for the “unplanned trip” is very simple – he will seek an apology from EC President Ursula von der Leyen.
She will participate in the GLOBSEC forum, which will have its 18th edition in Bratislava from May 29 to 31, 2023, Tribune writes.
We remind you that Petkov was supposed to be a guest on BTV’s morning block on Sunday, but the media reported that the invitation was turned down at the last moment, as he had to go on an “unplanned trip abroad”.
“We had confirmation. At the last moment, the press center of the PP said that Petkov would not come. The reason – he went on an unplanned trip abroad,” Maria Tsantsarova said on air.
Subsequently, Petkov himself explained to journalists that “he is going to found a party structure in Slovakia”.
Petkov’s hidden goal is to convince Ursula Von der Leyen that what is heard is not heard on the recording. She personally let him know that she was very disappointed by the use of her name for personal purposes, however, Tribune colleagues reveal.

Another interesting detail is why the co-chairman of the PP-DB left for the forum on the morning of May 28 – Sunday – as a matter of urgency, since his name did not appear in the speaker program until May 30 – Tuesday, in the 17:00 segment – 5:30 p.m. According to the program, Ursula von der Leyen will speak on May 31 – Wednesday.
