It was a case of fourth time lucky for Limpopo outfit Black Leopards, as they sealed their promotion back to the top flight of South African football.

SABC shared the highlights, which feature at the bottom of the article.

Leopards – otherwise known as Lidoda Duvha – have been mainstays at the end of season promotion playoffs. This was their fourth appearance in the last five years. A win against Jomo Cosmos was required to seal a return to the PSL.

They were sent on their way by a finely-taken goal from Karabo Tshepe, who slotted home his finish at the back post in the 25th minute. The home side had chances to stretch their advantage, but one goal proved enough.

Who has been promoted and relegated?

There were joyous scenes at the final whistle, as a packed-out Thohoyandou Stadium celebrated the massive victory. This result means that Jomo Cosmos will face another year in the National First Division (NFD), alongside Platinum Stars.

They’ll also be joined by Ajax Cape Town, who were automatically relegated for fielding ineligible player Tendai Ndoro. Platinum Stars took their place in the playoffs after ACT’s points deduction but failed to capitalise on a second chance to stay up.

Johannesburg’s Highlands Park won the NFD and will play in the PSL next season.

Black Leopards must now work hard to ensure that the Thogoyandou Stadium is up to scratch ahead of their top-flight return. As it stands, work needs to be done to the ground to ensure it’s safe enough for the PSL.

Should they fail to make certain corrections, they could be forced to play games 200km away in Polokwane. Their incredible home support would suffer greatly.

Speaking of supporters, look who turned up to support the team from Venda:
