Tunisia secured their spot at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after seeing off Niger on Tuesday evening.

Benin 1-0 Algeria 

Ten-man Benin threw Group D wide open after upsetting Algeria 1-0 in the 2019 Afcon qualifier match on Tuesday.

Sessi D’Almeida got the only goal of the match in the 16th minute. The hosts were reduced to ten men in the 55th minute after Stephane Sessegnon was sent off but they managed to hold on for the famous win.

Benin are second in Group D with the same number of points as Algeria that is seven points. Algeria are first on the table after four matches by having a better head-to-head record.

Niger 1 – 2 Tunisia

Tunisia booked their spot in the Afcon 2019 finals after sealing a 2-1 win over Niger on Tuesday in Niamey.

A quick brace from Firas Chaouat from the 28th minute to the 32nd minute was enough to hand Tunisia all the three points.

Youssef Oumarou netted for Niger in the second stanza but it was not enough.

Tunisia top Group J with 12 points from four games while Niger are bottom with one point from the same number of games.

Central African Republic 0-0 Cote d’Ivoire

Ivory Coast will have to wait for another batch of fixtures to try and qualify for the 2019 Afcon after playing to a goalless draw with Central African Republic on Tuesday.

Cote d’Ivoire are second in Group H with seven points from four matches, three points behind leaders Guinea while CAR are third with four points.

Zimbabwe 1-1 Democratic Republic of Congo

Zimbabwe maintained their top spot in Group G after playing to a 1-1 draw with Democratic Republic of Congo in the Afcon qualifier on Tuesday.

Khama Billiat gave the Warriors the lead as early as the second minute of the match and his Kaizer Chiefs teammate Teenage Hadebe netted an own goal in the 24th minute to drop two points for the hosts.

Zimbabwe are leading the standings in Group G with eight points from four games while DR Congo have amassed five points in second position.

Namibia 1-0 Mozambique

Peter Shalulile’s solitary strike was enough to hand Namibia a 1-0 win over Mozambique, while also moving top of Group K.

Sudan 0-1 Senegal

Senegal became the third nation, after Madagascar and Tunisia, to qualify for Afcon after they defeated Sudan 1-0 thanks to Siddy Sarr’s late strike.
