Afghanistan defeated Zimbabwe by 17 runs in their second T20 International in Sharjah on Tuesday to seal the series 2-0.
Put in to batting by Zimbabwe who won the toss, Afghanistan posted 158-9.
Man of the match Mohammad Nabi once again emerged as top scorer as he made 45 off 26 balls, including four sixes and two fours. Karim Sadiq (28), captain Asghar Stanikzai (27) and Najibullah Zadran (24) were the next major contributors.
At one stage, Afghanistan were looking to score 180-plus, but they lost six wickets in the last three overs and scored only three runs in the last two.
In reply to the 159-run target, Zimbabwe fell short of the target by 17 runs, despite Sikandar Raza’s knock of 40 off 26 balls.
Mujeeb Zadran and Rashid Khan took two wickets each while Nabi picked up one as Afghanistan claimed second win in two nights to seal T20I series 2-0.
Afghanistan and Zimbabwe will play their first of five-match One Day International series on February 9.
